黑料大事记 to offer Taylor Swift poetry classes

Fans of musical artist Taylor Swift will have the opportunity to learn more about poetry by studying her songs.
Mid-Plains Community College鈥檚 Business and Community Education department will host 鈥淭aylor Swift: Poetry in Lyrics鈥 classes for ages 13 and older at all of its campuses. Seats are expected to fill up fast.
Attendees will analyze lyrics of Swift鈥檚 songs through a variety of critical lenses while learning the basics of literary theory and analysis. They will then write their own poetry inspired by Swift鈥檚 subject matter and style.
鈥淭his will be a fun, interactive class for people who love music, poetry and Taylor Swift,鈥 said English instructor Jessie Allen, who will teach the classes on-site at each campus. 鈥淭hose who bring a friend will receive a BFF discount.鈥
Classes are scheduled for the following dates and locations:
May 21 - Room 205, W.W. Wood Building, North Platte North Campus
May 22 鈥 黑料大事记 Ogallala Campus
May 29 鈥 黑料大事记 Valentine Campus
June 6 鈥 黑料大事记 Broken Bow Campus
June 11 鈥 Room 213, McMillen Hall, McCook Campus
June 12 鈥 黑料大事记 Imperial Campus
Two sessions are available to choose from at each site 1-4 p.m. or 5-8 p.m.
The cost is $30 per person or $45 for the BFF discount. Registration can be done by calling the BCE office at 308-535-3678.
